Hope Disabled Centre
An unexpected development with the Grodno Church was the opening of a centre for disabled children. When the teams were out in June 2004, we had the joy of sharing in the official opening of the disabled day centre. Some 40 families with disabled children attended, and after a short ceremony in which some of the children sang, everyone had opportunity to register then see and sample the facilities within the HOPE Centre. The parents were emotionally excited at this resource for their children - so much so the number of children has increaced to 80.
The Day Centre opened after the school holidays at the begining of September 2004. It is open Monday - Friday from 9.30am - 2.30pm, and the children are able to come twice each week. We have employed ten workers to staff the Centre under the supervision of a paediatrician. The funding of these workers is a commitment we have made and is one specific area we will be needing funding and sponsorship for. If you feel you would like to support this project, or would like more information, please contact us. A seperate leaflet is available giving more information.
